Dear makers of Dove Promises,
Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of your chocolate promises. The rich taste of your dark chocolate is mesmerizing. When I am feeling down I can always grab a dove dark chocolate promise and it will trasport me to another place. A place of love and romance. Joy abunduntly flows through my entire being when I savor your amazing chocolate goodness.
Now with that said I have one question...WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? I have always delighted myself in reading the romantic words of love and happiness hidden away inside your foil wrapper. I like to painstakingly smooth out the small square, careful not to tear it and just as the dark chocolate promise begins to melt on my tongue I sit back and read the wisdom placed so lovingly inside. I am usually swept away with romantic notions or encouragement in love. It makes me feel like there is still hope in this world of chaos. BUT THEN...I open my Dove Valentines Day Promise only to find this..."Arrange bud vases in the shape of a heart and fill with roses...Martha Stewart" I thought this must have been some kind of sick joke. MARTHA STEWART??? REALLY??? She is touting love phrases on my favorite chocolate? I grabbed another piece...MORE decorating rubbish! WHY? I want to read about LOVE not toast points in the shape of hearts and arrows!!
I am a woman and like most other women, I consume a good amount of chocolate. I would guess that your market researchers would find that most cocholate that you sell is purchased by women. If my assumptions are correct then why would the marketing people at Dove think it was a good idea to have a smarmy old hag offer them lame advice on Valentines decorating. Men dont care about bud vases or hearts in their cappuccino!! I doubt most men even know that there is something written inside your wrapper. Men are not the world known for being the romantic ones in most relationships and therefor are probabaly not going to take note of Ms. Stewarts corny advice on romance.
When I think of people who know how to make a woman feel abundnat joy, glorious romance and heavenly enchantment my mind is taken to Shakespear, Lord Byron and Jane Austen, not a crazed hot glue gun weilding, flower arranging, insider trading media mogol. She isnt even MARRIED!!
Dove Chocolate Promises...You have let me down! My whole faith in the workd is shaken. I am afraid to have Chinese food now, for fear that when I open my fortune cookie, inside will hold "sage" wisdom from Donald Trump!
Thank You for your time.
Sincerely,
Amy Blackwell
